SUSC - the Salvation Army Food Bank is need of our community's help...

2012-08-03

Further to an article included earlier this week in the Journal Pioneer, the Salvation Army - Food Bank is in dire need of assistance from our local community. The Summerside United Soccer Club would like to help!

On Monday night (August 6th), the Mini Soccer Program (U4,U6 & U8) will be setting up "Food Bank - Drop Boxes" at our respective TOSH fields to collect much needed food items. If you are able to assist, any food contributions would be greatly appreciated. Below is a short excerpt from the JP article...

“The Summerside Salvation Army is digging deep to stock shelves – the Food Bank is running low, leaving the organization to take money from elsewhere. They are in most need of cereal, canned vegetables, jams, peanut butter, cheese spreads, pasta and pasta sauce.”

Additional collections & drop boxes are being coordinated by Jim Fisher for the Youth Soccer Programs. He will be issuing communications on this in the very near future.

Thanks again for any assistance you may be able to provide!
